I have just created a new overarching brand concept for Yo! Sushi, and launched their new menu with a combination of filmed content for social, posters and YO!’s first ever national radio campaign.
To launch the movie Rio, I had a six-foot, 75 Kg model of a parrot built, strapped on top of a yellow bi-plane and then flown over the UK’s major cities. A social-media success, a double-page spread in the Sun, and a spot on breakfast TV.
To help international hotel chain Ibis increase customer revenue, I created a new restaurant concept and brand – Foggs. It was launched at their flagship Blackfriars hotel, then rolled out nationally.
Brand Participation agency Iris wanted to do something more original than the usual ‘quirky’ client Christmas card. So I persuaded the agency staff to nominate and sponsor each other and clients (through a bespoke microsite) to run the 3,273 km from Southwark to Lapland (on treadmills), while being broadcast live across social media. Every Km covered was a pound raised for ‘When you wish upon a Star’, a charity that takes terminally-ill kids to Lapland to meet Father Christmas. Campaign magazine rated it as one of the top-three agency promotions that Christmas.
I have worked leading London agencies: Ogilvy One, DLKW, Craik Jones, DigitasLBi, Proximity and Iris. I have managed teams, both large and small, and enjoy working directly with, and inspiring, clients. I ran my own Brand Activation agency, Marmaduke Grimwig, for three years. We won business from clients including 21st Century Fox, Welcome Break Motorway Services, Ibis Hotels and The League Against Cruel Sports.
Creative awards include Cannes, DMA Grand Prix, D&AD, IPA Advertising Effectiveness, Caples, MCCA and Scottish Ad Awards.
